Billie June Brand uses clay as a means of intuitive discovery. Brand practices experimental play with ceramics, revealing unconscious patterns, memories, and movements through objects. Brand creates “touch objects” that are meant to be held and interacted with, facilitating relational intimacy between object and viewer.

Brand is currently earning their BA at Macalester College in Saint Paul. They are the recipient of the 2022-23 and 2023-24 Joan Mondale Ceramic Artist Award. They are a current teacher and artist in Minneapolis.
